Rospa25

On 21 Oct 25 RoSPA did their first full report of the playground.

  • There are many green – “low risk” entries
  • There are 6 amber medium risk entries needing minor attention and 3 amber entries considered NFA
  • There are 0 high risk red entries

The summarry of the 6 amber entries is below – each with a letter followed by a number for the item in the report

  • A6 round picnic table – needs some tightening up (done 10 Nov 25 (not a risk in RospA report but attended to anyway)
  • P4 buffers under the see saw – I didn’t notice them as loose last time I checked but will have another go – adhesive needed
  • P4 bolt heads under the repaired see saw – need to be trimmed & smoothed (done 10 Nov 25 )
  • P10 zip wire carriage finger guard – one side has dropped down and rubs against the zip wire. A temporary fix would be to glue in place and make good the wear(done 10 Nov 25 )
  • P17 bolts on curly slide could be replaced with shorter ones (done 10 Nov 25 – many bolts reduced, some further to be done – weather permitting)
  • P23 underside of one flat swing seat – rubber underneath is moving over aluminium frame – needs adhesive
  • P24 the trampoline showing loose edging –  a temporary fix applied in  the summer – stronger glue now required

Minor (no further action):

  • P2 wobbly see saw – it is meant to be wobbly by design
  • P10 cable exit on zip wire base – a bit worn, possibly when the wire tension was not optimum but this is so minor …
  • 22 basket seat height – I measured to to be 450mm at the edge and 400mm in the centre, within their guidelines
