New Playground Design

The new playground will be built by Home-Front. When we started this project we didn’t know about them but a couple of key facts emerged:

  • They are based in Dinton: a crow flying would take just 6 miles
  • Home Front supplied the original tower slide some 19 years ago followed by the ship sometime later. The fact that both of these elements have survived is a testament to the longevity of their construction methods and material selection
Overview
A view of the larger structure and part of the zip wire – the single most requested feature
The zip wire runs on the eastern edge of the playground

The 3 mages above show the larger structure aimed at older children. It is more challenging to access and use .

For the youngest children we have the concept of “Little Broad Chalke”. A low level structure which is easy to access.

The two main structures are complemented by 3 types of swing (basket, plain and saucer) and a play trail.

This view shows the easy access section: rubberised flooring containing a trampoline, accessible roundabout and saucer swing
